Frederick Post Slide Rule 1446 Made in Japan by Hemmi
This slide rule, distributed by Frederick Post Company (Chicago) between 1931 and 1949, was made in Japan by the Hemmi company, whose claim to fame was applying celluloid to bamboo to make its rules. The advantage was that these items didn't tend to shrink or expand the way wooden ones did. This particular rule probably dates to the 1930's because it says "made in Japan" as opposed to "Mad tin Occupied Japan," which would have been the marking after the war.
